Behavioral therapy Düsseldorf
Therapy offer: Behavioral therapy
The Vivare Health Center in Düsseldorf is concerned with alleviating or curing mental illnesses that lead to a disturbance of perception, behavior and bodily functions. Various therapeutic methods are used – but the focus is always on discussions between patient and therapist. Scientifically recognized therapeutic approaches used in our practice include: behavioral therapy, occupational therapy, and neurofeedback.
What is behavior therapy?
The basic idea of behavior therapy is that all behaviors in life can be learned and thus unlearned or replaced by new ways of thinking and behaving. Good or bad experiences reinforce certain behaviors, while others are attenuated. According to behavior therapy, the development of mental disorders is also due to adverse or stressful learning experiences. The causes of the behaviors are determined by us in the diagnostics. In this way, targeted individual strategies and measures can be developed to enable the best possible healing of mental health problems. Problematic thought patterns and attitudes are thus to be uncovered with behavioral therapy and steered in a new, positive direction.
With the help of behavioral therapy it is possible to help affected persons to become more independent and to regain their independence. At Vivare, we help you regain a better quality of life and support you along the way.
Mental illnesses can put a strain on family life, the school or professional situation, or even social contacts. The earlier the problems are addressed, the more favorable the prognosis and chances of recovery usually are. Behavioral therapy uses scientifically recognized methods to find targeted and problem-specific solutions. It serves to bring about self-efficacy and self-determined change processes. For younger children, behavior therapy tends to be more experiential rather than cognitive, including elements of play therapy. We treat the following problem areas, among others, regardless of age:
- Anxieties (social anxiety, performance anxiety, etc.)
- Eating disorders
- aggressive, oppositional or dissocial behavior
- Sleep disorders
- self-injurious behavior
- Wetting up/defecation
Behavioral therapy for children, adolescents and adults
People affected by mental illness often have difficulties in everyday life and with making or maintaining social contacts. Therefore, the main tasks of behavioral therapy and occupational therapy are to help patients become independent and reintegrate into society – regardless of the patient’s age. The focus of treatment is therefore always on participation in social life, self-sufficiency and fulfilling leisure activities. Vivare Health Center uses behavioral therapy treatment methods to help children, adolescents and adults cope with mental health issues and become more self-confident, self-reliant and independent. Our team will be happy to advise you free of charge on our various therapy options.
